About Us

Established in 2020 with the understanding that individuals are resilient. Because of the resilience of people we need challenes, failures and the self confidence to be able to look inward and grow from difficulties. Resilience Physio provides coaching and proactive rehabilitation to ensure that you can be physically prepared to live your fullest life. Coaching, training, and therapy are all designed with you at the center and with that the understanding is that you are the one who gets to determine what you get out of it. Resilience Physio can help you maximize your greatness but you have to do the work. That being said we strive to help you find joy and fulfillment out of movement so that it something sought after and looked forward too and not dreaded.

Andrew Engelbach-Schafer,PT,DPT

Andrew is the founder of Resilience Physio. Looking to revolutionize the current Physical Therapy model, Andrew created Resilience Physio because he determined that individuals needed to be placed at the center. Through the foundational principles of excitement, exploration, education, and empowerment, Andrew and Resilience Physio’s mission is to create a model of training, coaching, and treating that helps people achieve their aspirations through self-dedication and commitment to change..

Andrew’s approach to rehabilitation and wellness is constantly evolving with research in many disciplines including movement, neuroscience, psychology, and education/cognition and has a strong focus on range and movement variability. Maximizing wellness and health through coaching and proactive rehabilitation comes from creating an environment that is fun, embraces what the individual wants in their life, and promotes growth.

Andrew Graduated in 2014 from Daemen College with his Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Since graduating he has worked with people all levels and ages ranging from elite national level athletes to individuals looking to walk again from the ages of 4months to 100 years. His experience, in several practice settings (sports/orthopedic, home-health pediatric, sub acute rehabilitation, and hospital rehab), has given him unique skills in being able to provide therapy for any environment.

Andrew loves to participate in movement of all types snowboarding, rock climbing yoga, lifting, running, swimming, cycling, and pretty much else anything outdoors or involving movement. Some of his achievements include finishing multiple marathons and completing IronMan Lake Placid 2022. He is the middle child of 5 and grew up in Lancaster NY. He is an optimist who believes that rehab and therapy are vital to the community. Through elite care, coaching and education on how to use the tools each person has to craft their optimal lives, therapy and rehabilitation can empower individuals to be more resilient, perform at a higher level, and recover faster.

“Rehab and coaching are both closed systems. The coach or therapist can provide input/guidance but what the individual puts in is what they will get out.”
